Reef is our cheerful and affectionate therapy dog in training here at Deeply Rooted Psychotherapy. He helps his mama, Brooke Schultz, in her sessions and you'll sometimes catch him walking through the waiting room!
True to his name, Reef brings a calm, light, grounding presence, like a peaceful ocean breeze, into the therapy space.
He’s currently working hard in his therapy dog training program, learning how to support clients with empathy, patience, and gentle companionship. Reef loves meeting new people, offering a soft nudge for pets, and showing that healing doesn’t always have to come from words—it can come from connection, comfort, and trust.
When he’s not practicing his therapy skills, Reef enjoys long walks, squeaky toys, and napping in sunny spots.
Reef is still in training, so he may join select sessions under supervision to continue learning how to create a safe, comforting environment for clients of all ages. His warm energy and steady presence remind us all to slow down, breathe deeply, and stay rooted in the moment.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to share them with your therapist or our office. We understand that not every client may feel comfortable around Reef, and we are committed to ensuring that all clients feel safe, respected, and at ease in our space.
